Sheikh Saud Al-Shuraim is the Imam and Khateeb at the Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. He is highly regarded for his unique recitation style across the world.
Early Life and Education
Born on October 15, 1966, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Saud Al-Shuraim’s family is from the Haraqees of the Banu Zayd tribe of Saudi Arabia. He holds a PhD degree in Sharia (Islamic studies) at the Umm al-Qura University in Makkah. Al Shuraim is a dean and “Specialist Professor in Fiqh” at the University.
Career
Shuraim has been leading the Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan in Makkah since 1991. In 1992, he was appointed as a judge of the High Court of Makkah. An author of many books on Aqedah, Fiqh, and Arabic poetry, he travels around the world to give lectures.
Personal Life
Saud Al-Shuraim has great respect for his mother for having raised him with great love and affection during difficult times. He lost his father in early childhood. He believes his wife has proved to be his best companion.
