Wisam Sharieff

Imam Wisam Sharieff is a religious educator, leader, and CEO. He is the founder of AQL (Advocating Quranic Lifestyle), an institute focused on Quranic education and literacy, and also leads the Quran Revolution program for AlMaghrib Institute, a state-of-the-art program aimed at transforming students’ interaction with the Quran.

Imam Wisam’s Islamic education began at the Institute of Islamic Education in Elgin, Illinois, followed by his studies at the Quran Academy in Lahore, Pakistan where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic grammar and a minor in Arabic literature. He has also studied under renowned scholars in Makkah and Egypt, and has completed his ijazah in Ashara Qiraat, the study of the varying recitations of the Quran.

With over 25,000 students taught globally, both in person and online, Imam Wisam’s mission is to bring the Book and Message of Allah to people worldwide. He has made Quranic recitation and memorization more accessible through his innovative and pioneering teaching methods. In addition to his religious pursuits, Imam Wisam is a certified radiology technician.

Imam Wisam resides in Dallas, Texas with his family and continues to run AQL as its Founder & CEO. He is dedicated to promoting Quranic literacy and understanding, and his work has been instrumental in revolutionising the field of Tajweed and recitation.
