Early Life and Education
Idris Abkar was born in Jeddah, in 1975. Abkar began his recitation career at a young age, and quickly gained recognition for his skill and the emotional depth of his readings. He started studying the Quran in Tawheed Masjid at an age of only eight years old. At the age of thirteen, he joined the memorising circles in Al-Fatini Masjid and finished memorising the Quran in four years.
Career
He took the role of Imam at Al-Fatini Masjid, where he worked for three years.
He led prayers at several mosques, including those of Ibn Taymia, Ibn Alqayyim, Assid Ibn Alkhadir, Salim Alharbi, and Bajaber, thanks to his wonderful disposition, sweet voice, and extensive theological understanding.
His schooling was greatly influenced by Yusuf Al Ahmadi, one of the finest preachers, as well as other preachers like Abelwahab Al Ahmadi, Awda Addahiri, Abdellah Alqarni, Hadi Said, and Mohammed Rafii.
He was appointed the official Imam of this mosque where he presided over the prayers on Saturday, November 23, 2013, during the Maghreb Prayers. During the time he served as an Imam in Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi for Tarawih prayers, his voice and the way he recited the Quran were admired and were able to draw thousands of people.
He has recently been to numerous Islamic nations, including Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and a number of other nations in Africa and Asia, to lead Tarawih prayers.
