Du’a plays a vital role in Islam. The Prophet (SAWS) said, “Du’a is worship”. This hadith puts the act of supplicating on a pedestal. And since the blessed month of Ramadan has the greatest night of the year; Laylatul Qadr (which one needs to search in the last ten nights of the month) which is equivalent to 83 years and 4 months, it’s better to prepare for the big night by not missing on anything that we want and need.
Du’as from the Quran and Sunnah guide us and help us ask Allah, like one scholar mentions, du’as from the Quran are those that have worked before as a key to a lock and so it’s better to try this key before trying any other, but one thing that’s often forgotten about du’a is that it is direct communication with Allah, where you pour your heart out asking everything that you need.
Why a Du’a List?
Have you ever felt an overwhelming feeling when you sit down to make du’as and feel like, where do I begin with? Should I start with myself, my family, my children, that uncle of mine who is battling cancer or the ummah that’s bleeding every day? This confusion makes us distracted and as we know, du’a cannot be done in a distracted manner, as the Prophet (SAWS) said in a hadith narrated by Abu Huraira (RA): “Make du’a and be assured of being answered, and know that Allah does not answer a du’a from a careless heart which is not concentrating”. (Tirmidhi).
Have you noticed how making a list of things and chores allows us to focus on doing them completely instead of doing everything altogether and ending up not doing anything at all?
Similarly, by making a du’a list of all our wishes and desires, aims and goals, we will not forget to ask Allah. One could repeat this again and again, consistently. It shows how eager we are to get them answered and fulfilled.
There is no doubt that sincere du’as created by yourself, taking into account your personal situation are the most meaningful. However, perhaps there are also many du’as that are just as important to you but for various reasons you are not able to put them together. Perhaps you lack the time, the ability to word them concisely or just simply don’t have the energy left to mentally think of each du’a because you are too lost or tired.
And so, here is the ‘The Ultimate Ramadan du’a List’. It is more so an idea, an inspiration for those that want to ask a lot but usually forget or don’t know where to begin with. This is a compilation of various du’a lists that I have either come across myself or have had shared with me. Having a comprehensive list will improve your productivity and ensure that you do not forget any du’a. This list has been categorised so you can easily prioritise and allocate sections for certain times if needed.
Note: A must-read before you get the list! Here are our top tips to help you maximise your efforts and increase your chances of getting your du’as answered.
- Set aside a specific time to make these du’as and limit distractions. Maybe plan it out using the various categories if you can’t do all of it in one go. For example, for family, friends, neighbours, Ummah – Tahajjud time, for Spouse, children, deceased, and sick before Iftar.
- It is from the Sunnah to repeat your du’a 3 times.
- It is from the etiquette of du’a to make it in a moderate voice. Not too loud. Not too low.
- Face the Qiblah and raise your hands.
- Sincerely repent your sins, both major and minor, so that you are in a state of humility before you begin and also because sin is one of the reasons why du’as are not answered.
- Call upon Allah (SWT) using His beautiful Names and Attributes at the beginning of the du’a.
- Praise Allah (SWT)
- Begin and end your du’a by sending Salam on the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS).
- Make du’a for your friends and Ummah. The angels will make the same du’a for you. It is an absolute win-win situation.
- Du’a is a form of Worship, which means you will get rewarded for making du’a. This itself should be reason enough for us to be constantly engaged in making du’a.
- When Allah mentions du’a in Qur’an, He establishes a direct connection with you. Usually, Allah commands the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) to “tell it” to the people. But when it comes to the verses about du’a “qul” is removed. This conveys pure Tawheed. Du’a makes a “direct” connection between you and Allah, no messenger, no wali is between you and Allah. Subhan’Allah, take a moment and visualize a pure direct connection that is established between you and Allah whenever you start making du’a.
- Du’a is more likely to be answered in Sujood, before Tasleem in Fard Salah, between Adhan and Iqama, before breaking fast, 1/3rd end of the night also known as Tahajjud or Qiyaam ul Layl, when it rains, when a rooster crows (for it has seen an angel), the time between Asr to Maghrib on Jumu’ah, to name a few. Learn to combine these. Example – du’a in Sujood during Ramadan at Tahajjud on the possible odd nights of Laylat al-Qadr.
- Know that Allah is shy and will not return a servant empty-handed. Salman al-Farsi (RA) narrated that the Prophet (SAWS) said: “Indeed, Allah, is Hayy, Generous, when a man raises his hands to Him, He feels too shy to return them to him empty and rejected.” [Tirmidhi]
- Make du’a with sincerity & humility. You must ensure that your heart/Qalb submits totally, sincerely and wholeheartedly to Allah. Allah does not listen to an absent heart. Humble yourself before Allah whilst making du’a, confess your sins.
- Make du’a with Yaqeen and certainty. Make sure you put your faith in the du’a and be positive that Allah will answer it. Have Tawakkul that this is going to happen! Don’t say I don’t know if this is going to work. Be firm and don’t be hesitant that Allah will not answer you.
- Allah gets angry when you do not ask him or make du’a to Him. “Whoever does not call upon Allah, He will be angry with him.” – Prophet Muhammad (Sunan Ibn Majah)
- Du’a is your weapon against everything and everyone.
- Only du’a has the power to change Qadr/Destiny. Make du’a that if there are hardships written in your Qadr that Allah replaces them with blessings instead.
- Your du’a is more likely to be accepted if you constantly and sincerely repent. Repentance cleanses you of your sins and you are in a purer state when you plead Allah.
- Be Patient. Do not be in a haste. Keep negative thoughts concerning your du’a and Allah at bay. Erase them totally if possible. “(The du’aa’) of any one of you will be answered so long as he is not hasty in seeking a response and does not say, ‘I prayed but I have not had a response.’” – Prophet Muhammad (Sahih Al Bukhari & Sahih Muslim).
- Make sure that when you make du’a, you are focused and it is with complete sincerity. This is the most important condition, don’t read off the list like a robot (the only outcome of this will be a loss of your time and wasted effort/energy). Engage your heart and truly mean the words you read. Also, have a deep certainty that He (SWT) will answer your du’as, do not allow any room for doubt.
- If Allah granted the du’a of Shaytan do you think he will not grant your du’a? Remember, some Salaf made du’a for 20 years and were still hopeful that their du’a will be accepted and responded to. Always remember this if you tend to get impatient.
And remember that the reply of du’a comes in these forms:
- It gets accepted right away.
- It gets accepted later, not immediately.
- Some difficult/trouble/evil/harm is waved off.
- It gets replaced with something better.
- It gets converted into good deeds and helps our balance of deeds on the Day of Judgment.

Ya Allah, keep our home safe so it is a sanctuary against the evil of society. Help us to create an environment where our home is more inviting to our kids than the malls and general social areas and they prefer to be home rather than out on the streets, in clubs, movies, bars, and other such places of evil.
Ya Allah, please Allah grant us barakah in our time so that time is ample for strengthening family relations and much of our time is utilized as such.
Ya Allah, please remove the usage of harsh language and course mannerisms in our home. Maintain respect, kindness, gratitude and mercy and help my children to carry those values to the homes they create in the future.
Ya Allah, help us never, never compare our kids to other children, help us in a way that we never hurt them or let them down.
Ya Allah, save my family’s happiness from the evil onlookers. Save my children and my family from bad influences and things like Nazar, Hassad, Magic and everything that would compromise our happiness and peace.
Ya Allah, help me to know what to say to my children that will open up our pathways of communication so that they find it easy to talk to me and do not ever feel the need to hide things from me out of fear or shame.
Ya Allah, help my spouse and me to be the best Muslims we can be so that we are the best role models to our children. Help me not be a hypocrite and force my children to behave in a way that I do not aspire to behave.
Ya Allah, the family is the cornerstone of a stable society so please strengthen my family with iman so that we are proud flag bearers of Islam and through our stable, solid family unit may the ummah be strengthened in both unity and Imaan.
Men
Ya Allah, help us be the responsible Shepards of our homes and Ummah, help us defend the honour, help us be responsible for our flock for we know we will be questioned about it.
Ya Allah, help us be good providers unto our parents, spouses, siblings, and children. Pour ease on us, open doors of rizq for us. Help us pay our debts and open doors of halal income for us.
Ya Allah helps us complete our deen in a halal way and when we have completed our deen help us love our wife, help us provide for them and help them grow and nurture in deen and in their dreams to contribute to the Ummah and family.
Ya Allah, do not let the glamour of worldly comforts make us forget that our purpose here is to worship you. Keep bringing our hearts and intentions back to you. Accept our striving in the cause of our families as an ibadah, purify our intentions and it is from unto You that we seek rewards.
Ya Allah, help us return to our homes after a long day at work to find sukoon. Bless us with a spouse that cares and loves. Parents who make dua for success of both the worlds. Children who are grateful for whatever little I am able to provide with Your help. Keep the tricks of Shaitaan away from our homes. Make it a home where You pour blessings. A home that breaks bread with Bismillah and gives thanks to You after every meal. Is grateful to you for every cloth, every morsel that comes to the table, and every amenity and comfort that comes into our doors.
Help us nurture our children in the right way, help us be the role model full of Taqwa and Tawaakal, help us be the right inspiration to them, and help them be better than us in every way Ya Rabbi.
Safeguard us from all the evil and fitna that exists. Fitna of money, power, lust, and every other evil that is known to destroy our good deeds and lives. Ya Allah, You know our weaknesses so strengthen us.
Ya Allah, help us with a good shelter, a blessed neighbourhood that guards our family when we are away and does not look at our family with wrong intentions.
Ya Allah, strengthen the Muslim Brethren, let us help each other and not pull each other down in the worldly competition. Help us strengthen our bonds and meet and part for good and in good words and action. Bless us with friends who are like musk, whose company makes our deeds and thoughts good. Guide our friends who are on shirk and are earning haram income to the right ways. Save us from being jealous of each other’s progress, bless us with Husn e Zann towards each of them, and overlook their shortcomings.
Help us uphold every family tie, and look into our extended families and community in need of our help and kindness. Purify our intentions and bless us with ease in all our matters.
For Children
Those who are seeking Children
(There are beautiful Du’as from the Qur’an for offspring. Include that in your daily routine.)
Ya Allah, you bestow your blessings on those you will, please make me from those who receive this beautiful blessing of pious progeny.
Ya Allah, grant me a lineage of righteous offspring until Yawm al Qiyaamah. Ya Allah you bestow sons to those you will, you bestow daughters to those you will, you bestow both to those you will and you bestow none to those you will. I beg you to bestow me a pious, beautiful, healthy offspring.
Ya Allah, do not let me be of those to whom you deprive this beautiful blessing. Grant me an offspring that will be my Sadaqah Jariyah. Grant me an offspring that will make you and our beloved Prophet s.a.w proud. A progeny that be will be a blessing and not a test.
Our children, when they are born, let no sickness, no deformities, disabilities, no deficiency touch them.
Ya Allah, bless them to be normal, healthy, beautiful children. Protected from Shaitaan and his followers. Protect them from Hassad and ayn and calamities.
Protect them from the hate and jealousy of people, protect them from the Ayn and Sihr of people. Protect them from the Shayaateen of men and jinn.
Those who have Children (exclusively for children)
Ya Allah, you know what our children need. Help and guide us in praying for our children.
Ya Allah, put a hedge of safety around our children. Protect their bodies, minds, and emotions from any kind of evil and harm. Ya Allah, I pray that You protect them from accidents, diseases, injuries, and any other physical, mental, or emotional afflictions and abuse. Save our children from any form of physical, mental, or psychological abuse. Ya Allah, save our children from oppression of any kind, ill-treatment, humiliation and a target of any conspiracy and falsehood.
Ya Allah, I pray that You keep our children free from any addictions and vices. Draw them close to You for protection from every ill and evil influence of our society, whether it’s apparent to us or not.
Guide their inclinations so that in an adverse situation their feeling would be to turn to You first and then to the family instead of turning to dunya. Shine Your light on any secret or unseen rebellion in their hearts and destroy it before it takes root.
Ya Allah, grant them the best of the company as their friends — people who will inspire them to love, worship and obey You.
Ya Allah, grant our children hidaya/guidance and a heart that loves to obey You.
Ya Allah, guide them away from any pride, selfishness, jealousy, hypocrisy, malice, and greed and make them uncomfortable with sins. Help noor reach into their hearts with Your love and reverence today and always.
Ya Allah, make apparent to them the truth in any situation and let them not be misled by falsehood.
Ya Allah, grant our children the ability to make clear decisions and let them always be attracted to good things that are pure, noble, true, and just.
Ya Allah, guide them in making choices that please You. Ya Allah, help them to taste the sweetness of walking with a humble spirit in obedience and submission to You.
Ya Allah, grant them the wisdom to choose their words carefully and bless them with a generous and caring spirit.
Ya Allah, I pray that they never stray from the path of deen and that You give them a future filled with Your best promises.
Ya Allah, always keep our children cleansed and pure from evil and shaytaan. Ya Allah, keep them steadfast in establishing Salaah and help them revere the Glorious Quran as Your Word and Law and to read it with understanding daily. Let it be their source of light and guidance.
Ya Allah, let our daughters love wearing Hijab and Abayah and our sons the dress of modesty. Let their dress be a representation of their Imaan and of their love and respect for Your commands. Help our children stay away from fitna and lower their gaze.
Lead them to a position where they rely truly on Your power alone and fear You in the open and in secret. Ya Allah, make them so strong in their deen that they never encounter doubt.
Ya Allah, do not allow any negative attitude to have a place in the lives of our children.
Ya Allah, guide our children in honouring and obeying You, Your Prophet (peace be upon him), and us as parents (when we are commanding that which is pleasing to You).
Ya Allah, fill our children with compassion and caring that will overflow to each member of our family.
Ya Allah, help them, love, value, appreciate and respect one another with good communication between them always.
Ya Allah, drive out any division between our children and bring them healing. I pray there be no strain, breach, misunderstanding, arguing, fighting, or severing of ties.
Ya Allah, allow them to one day marry righteous, God-fearing, kind, hard-working, intelligent, healthy spouses who get along well with them. Pour respect and love in every member of our family and who lead our children (i.e. their spouses) even closer to You and Jannat ul Firdaus.
Ya Allah, please grant me and my spouse the company of pious friends, relatives, extended community members, and teachers who will be inspirational role models for my children and will help me raise them to be the best of believers.
Ya Allah, please don’t let me become self-satisfied and arrogant in my parenting, but please don’t humble me or shame me through my children’s misdeeds either. Please let me always give credit for their good character to You and please don’t ever let me stop praying for them.
Ya Allah, protect my children from debt. Make them givers and not takers.
Ya Allah, help my children in their worldly academics and studies. Help us choose the right place for them, a safe place that would help them grow and learn. Save them from a dull mind and from behavioural and learning disorders. From developmental delays, disabilities, and small and big accidents of any kind.
Grant my children noble professions with halal incomes that give them respect and dignity in Your Eyes and in the eyes of their fellow human beings.
Ya Allah, grant them worldly comfort so that my children can come to You through the door of gratitude and so that they are not forced to come to You through the door of patience. Please let them always be grateful and patient.
Ya Allah, I pray for a close, loving, happy and fulfilling relationship with them for all the days of our lives and to be reunited with them in Jannat ul Firdaus.
Ya Allah, make our children the coolness of our eyes, grant them piety and make them Sadaqah Jariyah for me and my spouse.
Let them be leaders of the future ummah. Make them respectful and respected. Ya Allah, make our children the workers for your Deen, Hufaadh, who act upon what they have memorized and teach it to others. Make them da’ees, imams, Muaddhin, Mujahids, Aalim, fuqaha, scholars and shaheeds, and the same to our daughters… Hafidah, Aalimah, Mujahidah etc.
Ya Allah, grant our children success in Deen, Duniya and Aakhirah and grant us a lineage of righteous offspring until Yawm al Qiyaamah. Grant my children and their children to come good tarbiyyah and parenting skills, so they can guide their line of progeny and lineage to not be lost, leave Islam or commit Shirk.
Ya Allah, unite our entire lineage in Jannah Al Firdaus, Ya Allah, make them become the reason for our place in Jannah and shield against the Hellfire.
Ya Allah, protect my children and their progeny, my siblings and their progeny from all the deviant beliefs. Protect them from all the shirk and bid’ah and do not let even their shadows fall upon them. Preserve them in a beautiful manner and protect their Eemaan from these evil.
Ya Allah, protect our children from the evils that are within us and bless them with all the good we have. Ya Allah, save our children from the impact of our mistakes in their lives. Bless them with the best qualities from us and shield them from our flaws, limitations, weaknesses and shortcomings from being inherited.
Ya Allah, please don’t let my children be picky about anything. Let them eat and enjoy every little thing we have to offer. Let them be happy and satisfied with everything given, may it be loads, little or nothing.
May the light of Eeman be with them when they are born and let their faces be bright. Bless them with immense beauty of heart, mind, soul and the beauty of looks.
Ya Allah, perfect their limbs so they can walk to the right gatherings, perfect their tongues so they can talk the right things, perfect their hands to do the right things, perfect their ears so hear the right things. Protect them and guide each part of their bodies ya Rabbi.
Make our children independent of us confident and able. Help them do deeds and actions independently. Without us having to keep reminding them. Make them not need us to be behind them for each and every task.
Grant them skill, dexterity, intelligence, elegance and the ability to be street smart. Give them a heart that gives, forgives, respects and honours people.
Ya Allah, bless us with children that have no tantrums, no bad behaviour and are not difficult. Make them well behaved, righteous, steadfast on their Eeman. Make them better than us in Eeman and Islam. Ya Allah, save our children from the glitz and glamour of materialism, power, competition and jealousy.
Ya Allah, protect our children from the impact of our sins on their lives. Protect them and us from the shayateen of men and jinn.
Let us have the knowledge and skill to teach them the right Islam. Make us perfect parents and bless us with guidance to deal with them. Give us the physical, emotional, and spiritual ability to bring them up in the right Islam. Allow us to be good examples for them to follow.
Provide us to provide them with a better future. Increase us in sabr at each of their milestones and developments in life. Help us overlook their flaws, help us imbibe etiquettes and success so we can give them a good childhood and akhlaq as they grow under our shade.
Ya Allah, make them become the reason for our place in Jannah and shield against the Hellfire. Ya Allah, save me and my entire family from the hell and make us enter Jannatul Firdaus without being accounted for.
Ya Allah, elevate my rank, my parents’ rank, my spouse’s rank, my siblings’ ranks, their families’ ranks, my elder’s ranks, my aunts and uncles’ ranks, my friend’s ranks, their parents’ ranks, and everyone near and dear to me.
For Navigating through Different Milestones in Life with Ease
Ya Allah, we are born, and to you is our final return, Ya Allah in this journey from You to You, there are different stages we go through, we grow weak and weaker by the day. Please bless us with the strength to navigate through the hurdles of life with ease.
Ya Allah, as students we think we have a lot on our plate until we enter the work sphere when we think it cannot get any harder, we get married and start taking up roles and responsibilities, with children and with children growing each day and having to nurture them while we are ageing we understand that Dunya is but a testing place and our ultimate final abode is Jannah. Ya Allah. Please bless us with the strength to cope with each milestone and stage of life with ease. Don’t make us just sail through these storms but help us reach the shore in peace and goodness and physical and mental wellbeing. Help us pass these stages and tests with flying colour so when we meet you on the Day of Judgment we are surprised with our deeds for having endured these tests with patience and tawakkal.
Ya Allah when I see my dear sisters in Ummah around me. Some are struggling to find the right spouse and their aged parents are having sleepless nights, some are struggling to have children, and going through painful procedures in the hope of a blessing from you, some are having multiple miscarriages and are longing from ages to be a mother, some have come back with a divorce and having lost all hope in this beautiful institution of marriage, some are struggling and drowning with work and responsibilities and are making their feet and spirit crack, some are battling the complexities of different relationships in life and finding it very hard to be patient, some are put up with spouses who suffer from physical and psychological ailments and are at the brink of giving up, some are struggling to breastfeed, heal physically from becoming a new mother, potty train children, feeding children who refuse to eat despite hours of attempts, teach children the right morals, some are struggling to raise children with anger issues, gadget addictions, children on substance abuse, in the wrong company of friends, indulged in the Dunya and its pleasures, lost in life.
Ya Allah, you are the only one who understands all their pain and suffering. We know you wish to elevate us all with the struggles of the Dunya, if it was in the hands of our mothers they would take away all the pain and sufferings from our life but you are our creator who loves us more than 70 mothers, you know this path we are treading is building us in good deeds to enter Jannah. Preserve us our deeds, multiply the deeds on our scales. We beg you Ya Rahman Ya Raheem, bless us with the strength to pass these tests of worldly life with ease. Pour pour pour aafiyah on us and our affairs in life. Bless them all with khair, for indeed all matters return to you my Rabb.
Ya Allah you do not burden a soul beyond that it can bear. When you make us guardians of young and old, of leaders in organizations, help us carry out these responsibilities that burden our shoulders with ease. Give us the strength to be organized to make use of our time in the best way.
For Righteous Friends, Neighbours and to ease the suffering Ummah
Ya Allah, grant us friends those that will be the coolness of our eyes, those that will remind us of you. Those that will encourage us of good and forbid us from evil. Those that will celebrate every small and big accomplishment which comes our way with us and not the ones who would wish to see our decline behind our backs. Help us encourage and strengthen each other instead of breaking each other’s morale apart. Help us support each other and our dreams of contributing the society in our little and grand ways. Save us from backbiting and slandering our sisters, help us make sincere duas for them, and counsel them in private when we see them falter. Preserve each and every woman’s dignity and respect at the hands of those who want to destroy it in any way.
Ya Allah, grant those who are unmarried, the blessings of marriage and make their spouses the coolness of their eyes and grant my family and friends who are waiting for the blessing of a child – with a righteous, beautiful and dutiful Muslim child.
Ya Allah, guide the deviants towards Islam, Ya Allah, unite the hearts of those undergoing family/marital difficulties. Ya Allah Grant your perfect cure to those who are sick.
Ya Allah, elevate the ranks of my parents, spouse’s parents, my sisters, and brothers, my elders, and the entire Ummah. Help us strive toward goodness and shun the paths of evil.
Ya Allah, wake our ummah in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah. Help us wake up from our slumber, help us turn back to you, help us leave our jahiliyyah and extravagance. Help us do deeds that please you. Rectify our hearts, lives, families, and community at large.
Ya Allah, never stop guiding us all, our spouses and children and keep us as a community on the right path. Ya Allah, help us with memorizing and practising the Qur’an. Ya Allah, lead us to pious spouses and grant us righteous children for a stronger society and Ummah.
Ya Allah, help us as a community wake up early, fill our masjids during Fajr, help us start our days with fajr instead of work or school. Change us from within. Change our priorities in life to the right and haqq ya Rabbi.
Ya Allah, we as a community have lost simplicity and the feeling of being content. We have become overindulgent in food, clothing, and shelter. Everything that can be the bare minimum on a need basis. Our weddings have become extravagant and lost tranquillity in it. Our designer clothes running into wardrobes have failed to cover us. Time and again extravagant home décor renovations have failed to get the mansions we live in peace and sukoon. Ya Allah, Help us become Zahid and Zahidah, Help us practice Zuhd, help us be happy and content with what we have, and spend our money in Sadaqah, on building educational institutions, and hospitals, care centres, ambulances, that will benefit humanity at large. Bring us back the sukoon, the spirit to help those in need instead of catering to our greed and following our desires blindly.
Ya Allah, grant us health and yaqeen/certainty. Ya Allah, help us play a beneficial role in the Ummah. Ya Allah, protect our marriages and our faith and Eeman. Ya Allah, protect us from the horror of Yawm al Qiyama and grant us Jannatul Firdaws.
Ya Allah, protect us from the Fire. Ya Allah, unite the hearts of my worldly companions who work for You and strengthen our brotherhood/sisterhood. Ya Allah, make our relationship stronger by serving you and remembering you whilst together.
Ya Allah. guide us, our families, our neighbours, our community and our ummah. Relieve those who are deprived, burdened, oppressed, and in debt.
Ya Allah, protect my brothers and sisters across the war zones from the fitnah of this world, the persecution, rape, slaughter, humiliation, hunger, drought, deprivation, suffering, and all the pain they have been afflicted with. Ya Allah, relieve their sufferings, reward them for their sabr and elevate their ranks in this dunya and the Akhirah.
Oh Allah, lift the veils from the eyes of those who have been deceived into seeing Islam as something bad because of ignorance and media stereotypes. Oh Allah, bring all humans closer to You and each other. Please do not make us Muslims a test for them with our misrepresentation of Islam or because of our bad behaviour.
Ya Allah, relieve the hungry, take care of the single mother, widows and orphans and Muslims with physical diseases and psychological diseases, reward them all with Jannah Al Firdaus. Ya Allah, give guidance to our youth, our scholars, and our leaders.
Against Oppressors
Ya Allah, we are being stripped of our honour and dignity in every nook and corner of the world. Everywhere in the world, we are struggling to hold on to our Deen. We are being stripped of our basic right to cover at the hands of the oppressors. Ya Allah, bring their downfall and strengthen us with strength. Help us hold on to our deen even firmly, guide the ones who are astray, bless and protect those who are raising their voices against these corrupt regimes and standing up to these regimes in person, word, speech or action. Soften the hearts around Ya Allah, protect us our lives, and our families.
Ya Allah, bring the downfall, humiliation, and destruction of these modern-day pharaohs and oppressors. Destroy them with such wrath that none has ever seen, known, or thought of before. Avenge the blood of the shaheed, avenge the wailing mothers, avenge the orphans, and avenge the grieving fathers. Avenge all those that are dying due to the injustice of these oppressors. Protect them and what’s left of their houses and families and give them compensation better than what they could ever imagine. Relieve their sufferings and elevate their ranks.
Forgive the Muslim Ummah – the living and the dead. Bless the Muslims all around the world, and ease their suffering. Grant victory to the oppressed, grant life with no war and hostility. Fill their hearts with Eeman, reunite them with their families and punish and humiliate the oppressors in this dunya and make them taste your wrath in the Akhirah.
For Forgiveness
Ya Allah, forgive us if we have hurt someone intentionally or unintentionally. Forgive us if we have hurt others while joking, or lied to make people laugh.
Ya Allah, help people forgive us if they have vowed that they will never forgive us and hold us into account in the akhirah, pour Reham (mercy) in their hearts to forgive us for making mistakes in our Jahilliya. Forgive us in all the obligations towards you that we have failed, delayed, or done with wrong intentions.
Ya Allah, help us keep making tawbah, accept our tawbah and istaghfar, delete it off our accounts the way a dirty cloth is cleaned with water. Ya Allah, cleanse our hearts of sin, cleanse our minds from sin, cleanse our tongues from sin, cleanse our souls from sin, cleanse our limbs from sin and cleanse us completely from sin.
Ya Allah, do not bring an end to our lives without us having a chance to make sincere repentance to You and to those we have wronged. Help us return to you, clean slate. Help us through all the stages until we reach Jannah, Help us pass Qantarah (Small arched bridge) with ease having no scores to settle for wronging others.
(Reference: Abu Sa’eed al Khudree (r.a) reports that the Prophet (s.a.w) said, “when the believers cross the Hellfire, they will be stopped at a small arched bridge (Qantarah) before entering the paradise and will be given retribution for injustices between them until they become purified. (Then) they will be permitted to enter Jannah. So, by the One in Whose Hands is my soul, they will know their way to their homes in Jannah, better than they know their ways to their homes in dunya.”Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6535)
Forgive us Ya Allah so we reach our final homes in Jannah and recognize them better than the homes of this Dunya.
For the Deceased and those who have left us
Ya Allah, have mercy on us, the living and the ones who have passed away. Ya Allah, I pray you to have mercy on those who have no one to pray for them. Ya Allah, have mercy on them, forgive them their sins, gift them Jannah, make their hisab easy and reunite them with their families.
Forgive each and every person who has passed away from my family and my progeny to come, help us unite with each in Jannah.
For a good Death and Khatma bil Khair
Ya Allah, make the coming of death easy for us, allow our graves to be spacious, and allow the coming of Munkar and Nakir easy for us. Allow us to have the answers to their questions and allow them to accept our responses. Lighten the questioning for us. Let our last words in this word be the shahadah.
Ya Allah, bless us with a beautiful end, an end that’s honourable and painless. A death that is not harsh on us and not harsh on our families. Clothe us with the clothes of Jannah and bless us with their fragrance. Ya Allah, make us of the people who long to meet You and You long to meet them.
Open a window of Jannah for us in our graves and make it be spacious and bright. Allow our good deeds to be worthy in this world, that they accompany us in our graves. Allow us to have a peaceful time in barzakh, without any fear or anguish.
Oh Allah, make my grave a garden from the gardens of paradise and don’t make it a pit from the pits of hell.
Protect us from all the torments of the grave. Protect us from its tight embrace, from its darkness, from its torture, from its torment and from the loneliness within.
Grant us an honourable resurrection among honourable people of mankind. Ya Allah, take our souls at a time that you are happy with us, in a state of ibadah or in a state of helping someone, while we are striving in your cause or in your beloved city of Madinah.
O Allah, Make the best part of my life, the end of it. The last of my deeds, the best, and the best of my days, the day that I meet You and see your face (in Jannah)
For Akhirah and Jannah
Ya Allah, forgive us all for our shortcomings. The sins we committed in the open, the sins we committed in private and the sins we committed collectivity. The sins we committed in the morning daylight, the sins we committed in the depth of the night. Forgive us for the sins we initiated and the sins we followed. The sins that we committed again and again after repenting or the sins we did once and forgot that we even did. Forgive us for the things we commit that we may not consider a sin. Ya Affu, Forgive us in such a way that leaves no trace of ever having sinned. There’s no forgiveness except from you, if you don’t forgive us – we will be the ultimate losers.
Ya Allah, give us Jannah, make us worthy enough to beg you for Jannah. The highest rank in the Illiyin, with the noble souls and Prophets (peace be upon them all). Amongst the Ar- Rafeeq Ul A’la (The Most exalted companionship on high) and in the company of the righteous- (ma’al Abrar).
Ya Allah, accept our good deeds, those which we fight hard with our nafs to perform. Those which we struggle to perform before Dawn. Those which we hide and do. Those which we persistently do. Those that lighten our pockets. Those which churn our stomachs. Those that don’t seem worth it. Accept from us all our deeds, the little that we have, please multiply it for us.
Ya Allah, help us be the people of Jannah, help us do the actions of the people of Jannah, help us use the speech of the people of Jannah. Ya Allah, protect us from hell and keep us far away from it.
Provide for us tranquillity in our hearts, the anticipation of entering Jannah and the anticipation of seeing you. Ya Allah, make us successful in weighing our deeds, allow the scale to be weighted towards our good and lighter towards the bad.
Ya Allah, do not expose my sins in front of anyone, do not expose my shortcomings, my weaknesses and my evil to anyone. Rabbi, shield me from exposure and protect my secrets.
Allow us to be of the people that would have the shade of your throne when there’s no shade at all. Allow us to make sujood to you when you lift the veil
from our sights. Do not make us of the people whose backs would be stiffened and they’d be deprived of your sight.
Ya Allah, grant us the privilege of being those people who get the book in their right hands with no hisab. Allow us to enter Jannah with only your mercy. Ya Allah, do not hold us accountable on that day, for if you do, indeed there would be no escaping your justice.
Ya Allah, hand us our book of deeds in the right hand. Ya Allah, do not let us be of those that receive it in any other form. Allow us to be those who share their books with people in happiness.
Ya Allah, make us the People of the right or people of the front. Those of whom sip from goblets while lounging on gold couches. Ya Allah, make us of those who have shade with the honourable and the pious. Those with quick or no hisab.
Ya Allah, grant us the favour of drinking from Al Kawthar. Grant us the drink by our beloved Prophet’s hands (s.a.w), when thirst would overcome every living soul.
Ya Allah, permit us to be of the crowd that is ushered towards the Prophet and not the crowd of people that will be shunned away from him because of their deviance (biddah).
Reference: It was narrated that Sahl ibn Sa‘d said: The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “I will reach the Cistern ahead of you. He who comes to me will drink, and whoever drinks will never thirst again. There will come to me some people whom I will recognize and they will recognize me, then they will be prevented from reaching me. I shall say: ‘They are of me,’ but it will be said: ‘You do not know what they introduced after you were gone.’ So I shall say: ‘Away, away with those who changed (the religion) after I was gone.’”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (6212) and Muslim (2290).
Ya Allah, do not make this dunya a greater concern to us than our Aakhirah. Do not make the glamour of this dunya a cause of longing and the root of our sadness. Remind us that this life is temporary and only but a station for a short while.
Ya Allah, make the crossing of the Siraat easy for us. Allow us to pass through with a flash. Do not make us of those who beg for light, do not make is of those whose lights fluctuate, do not make us of those who fall off it. Ya Allah, protect us from the failure of this test. Ya Allah, ease my crossing of the Siraat and Qantarah (bridges before Paradise).
Ya Allah, make our lights very bright, in this world and in the end. Ya Allah, bless us with the light of your Deen, the light of belief, the light of submission and the light of staying on the path of Muhammad (s.a.w).
Ya Allah, protect us from the fitnah of the Dajjal, protect us from the fitnah of Yajuj and Majuj. Protect us from these trials that we know we are incapable of going through. Protect us and our families, our progenies from this fitnah.
If we happen to be alive at the time of that fitnah, us our children or any of our progeny – Allah make them of the group of people that will accompany Eesa (AS).
Ya Allah, Favour us with the ultimate bliss of seeing You in the Hereafter.
Ya Allah, forgive me for anything I forgot to mention and give me more than what I intended in the Dunya and in the Akhira.
Ya Allah, bless and guide the person who compiled this dua list, guide the members of her family who are lost, immersed in shirk and have left Islam. Show them khair and goodness of the work they do in your path in their progeny and by rewarding them immensely for the same on the Day of Judgement. Bless and guide those whose lists were used to create it, and make this a source of Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) for all of them and their families. Ameen.
