Salahuddin Ayyubi Died

On this day, on 4 March 1193, Salahuddin Ayyubi or Saladin, passed away in Damascus, Syria. Salahuddin was the Sultan of Egypt and Syria and the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty. He led the Muslim military campaign defeating the Crusaders at the decisive Battle of Hattin and liberating Jerusalem.
