Sultan Muiz ud din Qaiqabad Died

This day, 1 February 1290 marks the death anniversary of Muiz ud din Qaiqabad, the last sultan of the Mamluk dynasty. Ascended at seventeen, he ensured a lasting peace treaty was agreed between Bengal and Hindustan, which was respected even by his successors. His murder at 21, gave way to the Khilji Dynasty.
