Dua Of The Week: “There Is No Deity Except You; Exalted Are You. Indeed, I Have Been Of The Wrongdoers”

 لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

“And he (Yunus) called out within the darknesses (from inside the belly of the whale), “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.””

(Qur’an, Surah Al-‘Anbyā’ Verse 87)

Life at times tends to put us in fear-gripping situations which are defined by darkness, desolation, and despair. Everything around us forces us to break down and rejoices in our pain.

The moment when we are on our knees, with no sight of light, in the most helpless state, fall down in prostration to our Most Loving, our Most Compassionate Lord, and call out to Him through the words in His speech, His revelation, His book, Al Qur’an, which He calls, The Book that gives life to faith – Ruh (42:52), also the book which bestows light in our life, Nur (7:157).

“And he (Yunus) called out within the darknesses (from inside the belly of the whale), “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.”” (Quran 21:87)

“So We (Allah) responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.” (Quran 21:88)
