Umar Khalid Granted 7-day Interim Bail To Attend Sister’s Wedding

Former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Umar Khalid was on Monday granted interim bail for 7 days in the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act case related to 2020 Delhi riots case.

Additional sessions judge Amitabh Rawat has permitted bail to Khalid to attend his sister’s wedding. The court directed his release from December 23 and he would surrender on December 30.

Khalid was arrested on September 13, 2020 in the case. He had sought 14 days’ relief to attend his sister’s wedding.

On 3 December, Umar Khalid and co-accused Khalid Saifi got bail in another case related to the 2020 Delhi Riots.
