This Bengaluru-Based Online School Wants To Provide Best Education Possible From Home

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed education forever. This sudden change has led many entrepreneurs and educational institutions to adopt technology to evolve toward online teaching and create transformative solutions.

One such solution is the Bengaluru-based ed-startup Home E Learning, an online school that was started out of the passion to educate children by husband-wife duo Farhan Hoda (founder) and Ayesha Siddiqua (director).

According to Ayesha Siddiqua, education does not happen just at school, nor does it stop with the completion of homework. “We believe that education is a process that gets a child to think, to experiment, to analyse, to question and most importantly believe,” she says.

Speaking to The Cognate, Siddiqua said, “We started this school because it was the need of the hour. Due to COVID-19 several schools were shut and the pockets were empty. We had to look at resources as well as provide education which was not so expensive. When we couldn’t find any, we then started our own platform.”

“The sole intention of our online school was to be able to provide education to people, who found it financially difficult to enroll their children or continue their education,” Siddiqua said.

The duo say their objective is to provide the same quality of education that any international school offers at physical schools.

“I want to bring the same quality of education that is provided in international schools to the online space,” Siddiqua said, adding that she also does not wants to compromise on the number of classes that one takes.

“When a child goes to an offline school he has almost eight classes but as an online school we are not able to give them physical education. We focus mostly on curriculum that tackles their basic subjects, the importance of diversity.”

Founded in 2021 during the second wave of Covid-19, Home E Learning provides quality education with about nearly three times less cost when compared to other leading online platforms.

“Our objective is to bring the platform of quality to people for a very reasonable amount,” she added.

At present, the school has a strength of nearly 20 students with eight teachers. Last year, they had 28 students, but as the schools started having offline classes, few students moved out.

The school has programmes for students from LKG to High school, that is for children with the age group of 5 to 16 years. They do not just offer one particular board, but students also have the option of picking up four different boards– State Boards, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). The school is tied-up with the Bangalore Public School to provide certificates.

When asked about the future plans, Siddiqua told The Cognate, “We have a bright future. Because even with so many schools mushrooming everywhere, I’m looking at a good strength here. We have people who have continued to stay with us from last year after they found that the quality was delivered and had better experience compared to the past.”

She further added, “Our instructors are so well experienced and qualified, the students were able to get one-on-one attention from them.”

Highlighting that several schools do not have students less than 30 in a class because, Siddiqua said they have benchmarked themselves as “a school that does not allow more than 10 people in a class.”
