SIO To Organise ‘Mappila Haal’ Virtual Exhibition To Mark 100 Years Of Malabar Rebellion

The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) will organise an interactive virtual exhibition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1921 Malabar Struggle.

The Mappila Haal Virtual Exhibition will be a unique presentation that marks the 1921 Malabar Rebellion with digital visibility for the first time. The exhibition will contain comprehensive readings on the struggle, historical writings, documents, personalities and events of the rebellion is being prepared with the aim of making it accessible to all.

‘Mappila Haal’, a critical alternative to the colonial and savarna narratives, will be available to the public from December 15, depicting the long intellectual and rebellious tradition of Malabar against the colonial forces and caste domination, including the British.

Abdul Naser Madani released the logo of ‘Mappila Haal’. SIO State General Secretary Anwar Salahuddin, Secretary Rashad VP, Exhibition Director and State Committee Member Niaz Velam, Exhibition Curator Shaheen Abdullah and Musammil were present at the logo launch.
