Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya Was Born

On this day, on 28 January 1292, Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya was born, a prominent Muslim theologian, writer and teacher of Ibn-Kathir who strongly supported the Prophet’s Sunnah and fought deviation or bid’ah for which he was imprisoned with his tutor Imam ibn Taimiyyah. His resistance revived the strong role of scholars and their independence.
