Cricketer KC Ibrahim Was Born
On this day, on 26 January 1919, cricketer Khanmohammad Cassumbhoy Ibrahim, a top-order batsman who represented the Muslims in the Bombay Pentangular was born. Holding the record for scoring the most first-class runs he was named the ‘Indian Cricketer of the Year’ and was the Captain of the Bombay side that won the Ranji Trophy in 1948. A key figure from the influential Bombay cricket world of the 1940s, he played 60 first-class matches for Bombay and 4 Tests for India.
