Imam Ibn Taymiyyah Was Born
On this day, on 22 January 1263, Shaykh ul-Islam Taqi ad-Din Ibn Taimiyyah, Islamic scholar, Muhaddith, polymath, theologian, judge, and philosopher was born. He possessed scholarly excellence and unfailing memory in all fields of knowledge, writing solely from memory while in prison. His stance against religious innovation (bid’ah) led to his imprisonment several times. His legacy remains in his exhaustive written works and fatwas.
