MATRADE Urges Malaysian Businesses To Leverage On INSP MIHAS To Connect With Over 400 International Buyers

The deadline to register for INSP MIHAS Virtual is 31 August, and for INSP MIHAS Physical is 18 August.

YBhg. Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, CEO of MATRADE

The 18th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2022 is being held in cooperation with the flagship International Sourcing Programme (INSP) of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

The Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, South Asia, ASEAN, Oceania, and African regions, among others, will be represented at INSP MIHAS 2022, according to YBhg. Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, CEO of MATRADE. A total of 2,760 business meetings are anticipated to be arranged during the physical INSP MIHAS on 6 September 2022.

The Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) is the Halal industry’s number one business platform. It brings international visitors and traders together to the same forum.

Malaysian companies can look forward to connecting with premium buyers representing some of the largest conglomerates, retail and supermarkets in their respective countries.

“Last year’s INSP MIHAS connected 385 Malaysian companies with 333 international buyers, generating deals worth RM749.1 million for Malaysian exporters and we expect an equally successful programme this year. As such, we highly encourage Malaysian businesses to maximise this tremendous opportunity to expand their export presence into new markets by meeting new buyers and exploring cross-segment collaborations,” said YBhg. Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz.

YBhg. Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz stated that Malaysian enterprises can anticipate networking with elite buyers from nations including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United States, India, and Turkey during INSP MIHAS 2022. Some of the biggest companies, retailers, and supermarkets in various nations are represented by these purchasers.

INSP MIHAS consists of in-person and online one-on-one business meetings that are scheduled in advance to enable commercial agreements between foreign customers and Malaysian suppliers of halal goods and services.

International buyers at INSP MIHAS this year are seeking to connect with Malaysian companies from the following segments: Food & Beverages, Services & Enablers, Cosmetics & Personal Care, Modest Fashion, Food Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Media & Recreation, eCommerce, Islamic Finance, Muslim-Friendly Travel, Franchise, Food Ingredients, Food processing machinery, Packaging, Education and Islamic Arts & Crafts

Businesses in Malaysia that offer halal products are urged to register for free with the MIHAS INSP Secretariat. Depending on the availability of customers and suppliers, virtual B2B business meetings will be held using a virtual meeting platform. While the actual B2B meetings will take place on September 6 at MATRADE, the day before the start of the four-day MIHAS 2022 exhibition, the virtual B2B meetings will continue until August 31.

The hybrid format chosen for the programme this year reflects Malaysia’s entry into the endemic phase and the subsequent reopening of its foreign borders.
