Mangaluru: Accused In Fazil Murder Case Released On Bail

Fazil murder accused Harshit (28) granted bail by Mangaluru District Court

A district court in Mangaluru on Thursday granted bail to Harshit, a 28-year-old man who was arrested for sheltering the seven main suspects in the murder of Mohammed Fazil.

The bail comes 20 days after his arrest. The bail application asks him to execute a personal bond of Rs 50,000/- with one surety.

Fazil was hacked to death in Surathkal, Mangaluru on July 28 in front of a clothing shop. The whole incident was captured on a CCTV camera.

Fazil was murdered as part of a conspiracy following the murder of BJP youth leader Praveen Nettaru, 32, according to the police investigation. His name was picked out from a list of six people discussed by the gang following Nettaru’s murder on July 26.

On August 2, the Karnataka state police made a breakthrough by arresting all seven accused who were in Fazil’s murder.
