Karnataka Student ‘Corrects’ Teacher For His Islamophobic Remark

A video has surfaced on social media reportedly from Karnataka which has sparked a huge controversy. A Muslim student from Manipal University in Udupi district confronted his teacher for allegedly calling him a terrorist during a lecture.

In the video, the boy can be seen enraged by the alleged islamophobic remarks of his teacher confronts him in front of the entire class.

The student is heard questioning him about his comments, remarking them as derogatory.

“Being a Muslim in this country and facing such islamophobic remarks is not funny,” he says.

In return the teacher is heard contending that the boy is just like his kid and said it was just a joke.

The boy asked the teacher, if he would also call his son a “terrorist”. “How can you call me like that in front of so many people In the class? You’re a professional, you’re teaching,” he questions.

Remarking that he can’t call him that (terorrist), the boy says that the teacher should be a professional and that sorry can’t change the way the teacher thinks.

The video has gone viral with several Twitter users applauding the student’s courage for not sitting silently and holding the teacher accountable.
