Just When You Thought Dictatorship Was Over

Just when you thought dictatorship was over with Hitler, Look around there are far too many throttling the innocent for a penny.

Smothering voices of the ‘just’,
Throwing away our rights for a couple of likes.
Breaking down a nation built on unity and diversity for power and throne longevity.

Creating rifts when there wasn’t any,
Stirring pots, causing harm and worry.
Killing in the name of flesh and blood, raging war within the walls.
Tearing away kinship, bending it without a way to fix it.

Stealing votes with hate speeches,
Wiping our nation’s history with hollow gestures and mistreats.
Serving fundamental rights on a platter for the world to see but in reality, there’s hardly any.

We called ourselves Indians with pride,
Now they are stripping us down from our basic rights.
This isn’t the India I knew, it’s a facade for the powerful to rule.
