Two reporters from Millat Times, a current affairs portal, who went to Dasna in Ghaziabad, to cover the news story of a young Muslim boy who was beaten up for drinking water at a temple, were denied entry into the temple to interview its chief priest Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, on account of their religion.
On 11 March, a 14-year-old Muslim boy Asif was brutally beaten up by a Hindutva extremist for entering the Shiv Shakti Dham Dasna temple in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh to drink water.
The boy was slapped, kicked in his genitals, his arms were twisted and banged on the ground after he revealed his Muslim identity.
The board outside the temple states, “This temple is a holy place for Hindus, Muslims’ entry is forbidden”. That Includes Muslim journalists.
