Jharkhand: Doc Refuses To Treat Muslim Woman, Calls Her ‘Jihadi’

A Muslim woman in Jharkhand’s Ranchi Sadar Hospital alleged that a doctor refused to treat her and called her a ‘Jihadi’.

She also said that a contraceptive IUD was placed inside her uterus without her consent. Later, when she felt uncomfortable and wanted to remove it, the doctor called her a ‘Jihadi’ and accused her of wanting to have children again. Her baby is 6 months old now.

A video has gone viral on social media, in which a woman and her husband can be seen talking about the incident. They said that when they went to the doctor for removing the Copper IUD, the doctor checked the name of the patient and made communal slurs.

In the video, the woman alleges that the doctor said that she wants another baby which is why she wants to remove the Copper-T while completely ignoring the fact that it was installed without her permission.

“She called us Jihadi. That we are here for Jihad”, said the woman’s husband.

This is not the first incident. Such incidents of discrimination against Muslims in India have been reported in the past and are increasing by the day.
