First Of Its Kind Student Focussed Startup Incubator EdVenture Park Announces Funding To 2 Startups

EdVenture Incubation Foundation (EdVenture Park) announced the graduation of its first cohort of Pre-Incubation Program here on Saturday. EdVenture Park is a Hyderabad-based student-focused business incubator hosted by the MS Education Academy, a 30 year old chain of education institutions. EdVenture Park was inaugurated by Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, ITE&C, Government of Telangana.

EdVenture Park is first of its kind startup incubator, focused on Student startups emerging from colleges – both engineering and non-engineering. Designed to accommodate the academic schedule, EdVenture Park is working towards building the mindset of a “job creator” economy, rather than “placement” mindset. EdVenture Park is driving the Startup India movement in schools and colleges, giving the push to “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” Vision.

The first cohort received a great response with 180+ applications out of which 45 were called for interviews and 25 selected for the Pre-Incubation Program. The Pre-incubation Program lasted for 3 months, with a structured curriculum, focused on the practicalities of building a company from idea to product to a profitable business.

10 out of the 25 are selected for the 3-month-long, intensive incubation program. 21 women entrepreneurs were part of the first cohort and seem to be a popular choice amongst the student community.

Ilyas, Incubation Manager, EdVenture Park commented on what makes EdVenture Park different from other incubators “EdVenture Park is a platform for student entrepreneurs with an objective to connect talent with opportunity. We cater to the area which is neglected and offer complete support to passionate student entrepreneurs through our Pre Incubation Program where we work with raw ideas and shape the innovative ideas of today for a better tomorrow. This is what makes EdVenture Park different from other incubators.”

In the pre-incubation programme, two student startups were funded — Plastocons and Splash Water. Plastocons uses waste plastics to create construction material such as bricks, blocks and tiles which are 50 per cent lighter from the conventional bricks and builds 25 per cent faster and cheaper. Splash Water is standardising the unorganised water vendor network and making it easy for them to maintain quality and deliver a better experience to customers.

The other incubated startups are AppaRent, Vivify, LecturePro, Bizrah, The Good Pharmacy, Kiddiewink School, Spadit and RentEra.
