Acclaimed Film and documentary director and cartoonist K P Sasi (64) passed away on Sunday. He died in a private hospital in Thrissur.
His feature films include Ilayum Mullum, on the social and psychological violence on women in Kerala. Ek Alag Mausam (A Different Season) (Hindi: एक अलग मौसम) is a 2003 Hindi language movie directed by Sasi and starring Nandita Das, Anupam Kher, Renuka Shahane, Rajit Kapur, Arundathi Nag, Sreelatha and Sally Whittaker, a silent comedy film on development.
He also directed the documentary Fabricated based on the life of Muslim leader from Kerala Abdul Nasar Madani, accused in Coimbatore and Bangalore serial bomb blasts.
He was a founder member of ViBGYOR Film Festival.
