Umm Salamah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, will you not teach me a supplication with which I can pray for myself?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Say: O Allah, forgive my sins, remove the anger in my heart, and protect me from the trials of misguidance.
Musnad Aḥmad 26576, Sahih
Reflection:
Festering anger, or any kind of negativity in our heart, manifests in our actions, in our character. You could be the wisest or richest person around, but if you’re a person who holds resentment, ego, or jealousy in your heart, know for a fact, that you’re a fool. Because a forgiving nature or building good thoughts towards others, isn’t for them, rather it’s an enriching present you gift yourself with.
