A class fourth Hindu student won first prize in the Quran recitation competition in Kerala’s Kozhikode. Parvathy, the student, took everyone by surprise by getting an A for her proficiency in reciting the Quran and the Arabic language.
The competition was held at the Thodannur sub-district arts festival in Kozhikode. Parvathy studies at Chemmarathur LP School and has a twin sister, Parvana, who is also good at Arabic.
Parvathy’s father is an IT professional and her mother is an English teacher. It was the parents who encouraged their children to learn Arabic as they feel it can be beneficial to them in the future.
