Bengaluru Eidgah Maidan To Remain Playground: Cong MLA Zameer Ahmad Invites People To Hoist Tricolor Flag

Amid the ongoing demands of the right-wing activists to maintain Eidgah Maidan in Bengaluru’s Chamarajpet as a playground, Congress MLA Zameer Ahamad Khan on Friday stated that the Maidan will remain as a playground forever.

Addressing a gathering in Bengaluru, Zameer Ahmed said, “No one is saying that they will not allow children to play in the Eidgah ground. Until my last breath, Eidgah Maidan is going to remain as a playground.”

“Everyone demanded that the playground must be preserved. Where has the playground gone? Who has tried to remove it? Whether MLA, BBMP or Wakf Board have stated that the playground will cease to exist here?” he questioned.

“This will remain as a playground. Since 1871, it has been recognised as Eidgah Maidan”, MLA Zameer Ahmed said agreeing to the demand of the people that the place should be maintained as a playground.

Further, the Congress MLA invited those protesting to hoist the Indian flag together at Eidgah Maidan.

“BJP MP and former corporators have not attended the programme in spite of invitation. From this year the Tricolour will be hoisted on Chamarajpet Eidgah Maidan grounds. I will listen to my people. I am their servant,” he said.
