Well-known Islamic scholar, general secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and founder of Rahmani30, Maulana Wali Rahmani passed away today. Maulana Wali Rahmani was admitted to an ICU at a private hospital in Patna last week. However, his health continued to deteriorate and he breathed his last on Saturday afternoon.
The AIMPLB tweeted the news on Saturday. “Gen.Sec. Maulana Wali Rahmani Sahab RA has expired. It is an irreparable loss for the entire Muslim Ummah,” AIMPLB wrote.
The AIMPLB appealed for prayers and patience to all Muslims.

Maulana Rahmani had also served as Ameer-e-Shariat of Imrat-e-Shariya of Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. He was elected as a member of the Bihar Legislative Council between 1974-1996.
He was an Islamic scholar, academician and founder of Rahmani 30, an institution dedicated to preparing Muslim students for the IIT entrance test.
Maulana Rahmani’s father Minnatullah Rahmani was also a renowned Islamic scholar. He became Sajjada Nashin of Khanqah Rahmania, Munger, in 1991 after the death of his father. His grandfather Mohammad Ali Mungeri was among the founders of Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, one of the world’s foremost Islamic universities.
Many people took to social media to condole the Maulana’s passing away.
Popular Front of India’s chairman, O M A Salam described him as a “relentless voice for justice and human rights who spoke out against repressive laws”.
