Women Offering Namaz: FIR Against Right-Wing Channel For Publishing Hate Video On Karnataka HC Premises

An FIR has been filed against a right-wing social media channel for publishing a video showing two women offering namaz inside an office chamber on the Karnataka High Court premises.

The complainant is NG Dinesh and the FIR has been registered at Vidhana Soudha police station against the ‘Samvada’ channel. The case has been booked under IPC sections 447 (criminal trespass) and 505-(2) (statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes).

The FIR reads the 1.48-minute video was uploaded on May 14 under the caption in Kannada — ‘Karnataka High Courtnalli Namaz’ (namaz in Karnataka high court).

“Entering and making videos inside the high court premises without permission is prohibited. The video footage, filmed by violating rules, spreads hatred between two communities. We seek legal action against those who have filmed and uploaded the video,” the complaint read, Bar & Bench reported.
