A teacher at Saiema Mansoor Public School in Parsara, Hathras district, faced dismissal after a Class XI student claimed the teacher, Mohammad Adnan, did not respond positively to his ‘Ram Ram’ greeting and scolded him instead. The incident triggered community-wide protests, with right-wing groups gathering at the school gates, reciting Hanuman Chalisa in protest.
The school principal, Salman Kidwai, took swift action by sacking Adnan and issued an apology, promising measures to prevent such incidents in the future. District magistrate Archana Verma formed an inquiry committee to investigate the matter further, with a report expected within two days.
Principal Kidwai assured authorities that children from both communities had peacefully studied in the school for the past 30 years without such accusations. Sub-divisional magistrate Ravendra Kumar stated that during the inquiry, the principal apologized and committed to preventing similar incidents in the future.
The incident, which gained attention through social media, prompted the deployment of heavy police force. Hathras ASP Ashok Kumar Singh mentioned that while a police inquiry revealed no adverse facts, the district magistrate’s panel would conduct a further investigation, and appropriate action would be taken accordingly.
