“Sangh Parivar Attacks To Suppress Muslim Women Voices Will Only Be Futile”

A protest gathering spearheaded by Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO) declared that the Sangh Parivar attempts to silence Muslim women by fetishizing them through apps like ‘Sulli Deals’ and ‘Bulli Bai’ will only end in vain.

The gathering at Kozhikkode also warned that a similar model of anti-NRC/CAA protests will emerge against such attacks. The program was inaugurated by activist Khalida Parveen who criticised the Delhi Police for not taking timely actions when Sulli Deals was unleashed at first. She also said that the Muslim women will themselves fight against such cybercrimes if the law enforcing body continues to remain a mute spectator.

Afreen Fatima, the National Secretary of Fraternity Movement opined that now in India, for a Muslim there is one law, and another for the rest. “The Muslim women of this country will not succumb to living here as secondary citizens. We will fight against this” she said.

Activist and anti-NRC protest leader Aysha Renna also joined the gathering. She said that they will neither be afraid nor will come to any terms against such crimes against Muslim women.

Both the leaders also criticized the Chief Minister of Kerala for not intervening in the matter and seeking actions even after registering their complaints, multiple times.

“After the Sulli Deals attacks, I registered a complaint in Kerala. But it was dismissed by the Kerala Police. Now there is Bulli Bai attack, and a complaint has been registered with the Commissioner of Kozhikkode”, said Activist Ladeeda Farzana. The speakers also suggested that they are concerned and doubtful if similar rejections will also occur this time.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Women’s wing General Secretary, P Ruksana said that oppressing Muslim women is the character of Sangh Parivar Fascist forces. “Attacks like Bulli Bai can never shun the revolutionary strength and inspiration of Indian Muslim Women.” She said.

GIO’s president, Adv. Thamanna Sulthana presided over the gathering. Samar Ali delivered the welcome talk and Lulu Marjan gave the vote of thanks.
