Sahir Ludhianvi Was Born

On this day, on 8 March 1955, scholar, writer, and political activist Farid Esack was born. Known for his opposition to apartheid, the founder of the Muslim anti-apartheid group Call of Islam was an important leader in the World Conference on Religion and Peace forming ties with inter-faith opponents of apartheid.
