Maulana Syed Shahabuddin Salfi Firdausi Was Born

On this day, on 1 March 1956, Maulana Syed Shahabuddin Salfi Firdausi, an Islamic scholar, author and peace activist was born. Founder of the Athar Blood Bank he has authored a biography of Prophet Muhammad named Seerat e Badr-ud-Duja amongst other books and was lauded for his role in restricting violence during the 2002 Solapur riots.
