Munawar Faruqui’s Show Cancelled For Second Time In Bengaluru

The Bengaluru police have denied permission to stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui’s show ‘Dongri to Nowhere’ in Bengaluru for the second time. The show was scheduled to take place on Saturday and the event was cancelled as the organisers had not taken permission to organise it in the city, Press Trust of India reported.

Faruqui’s show was cancelled after the fringe outfit Jai Shri Ram Sena had petitioned the city Police Commissioner CH Pratap Reddy, alleging that the comedian has hurt Hindu sentiments in his shows by making insulting remarks about Hindu deities Ram and Sita.

In November 2021, the comedian was denied permission to perform in Bengaluru on the same ground.
