The Anti-CAA protest took a creative and disruptive turn on Tuesday as many of the walls, shutters and spots on Bengaluru’s Church Street were painted with graffiti protesting the divisive Act.

‘No CAA, No NRC’, ‘I will not show my papers’, ‘Detention Camps’, among others, were painted on the walls. Slogans against Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and BJP were also spotted. There was a ‘Free Kashmir’ graffiti as well.

The Police, who were quick to arrive at the spot have said that an FIR will be registered by them on a suo motu basis, although, the people behind the graffiti have not been identified yet.

A group of Hindutava group members also arrived at the spot in the afternoon and painted over the dissenting graffiti. On the wall of the defunct Shrungar Plaza, they used saffron paint to paint over anti-CAA, NRC and NPR graffiti, and also wrote: “We support CAA NRC NPR.”
