In view of International Women’s Day, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) will be organising a thematic film festival on women empowerment on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Monday.
The varsity’s Instructional Media Centre (IMC) has joined hands with the prestigious Mobile Film Festival, Paris to bring out the film festival.
The event will be telecasted virtually through the Facebook page and YouTube channel of IMC.
Various eminent personalities include archivists, actors, cinematographers, directors, journalists and authors will be sharing their journey work and experiences during this program.
A robust line up from different streams of cinema, television and journalism will be specifically enlightening this event.
The list includes Milt Shefter, Marriane Borgo, Dick Pope, Rajeshwari Sachdeva, Padma Shri Shaji N.Karun, Manju Borah and Ratnottama Sengupta.
Bruno Smajda, Head of the Mobile Film festival will be providing 60 films of one-minute duration from 25 different countries focused on Women Empowerment. He believes that such films and initiatives will inspire women to become self-reliant.
Rizwan Ahmad, Director of IMC said that this will be a unique program where powerful short duration films shot on mobile from different countries would be screened for the audience, as quoted by Clarion.
Prof. B Rehmatuallah, Vice-Chancellor of MANUU has also extended his greetings and congratulated the entire team if IMC for their motivation and efforts to initiate such an effective and important program on the occasion of International Women’s day.
The event will be addressed by Prof. Shahid Murtaza, Director of Centre for Women’s Studies, MANUU and will be attended by teachers, professors, deans, chairmen, directors and Head of the departments of various subjects and disciplines of the University.
