After six students submitted an undertaking that they will follow the dress code, the Government First Grade Degree College in Dakshina Kannada’s Uppinangady has revoked their suspension after they were suspended for wearing the hijab to college last week, The Hindu reported.

Last week, the college had suspended one more girl following the the suspension of six girls, while another 24 students had been banned.

Meanwhile, the girls reportedly attended classes on June 8.

According to reports, several students are attending classes while some, including boys who are supporting girls wearing hijab in classrooms, continue to remain absent from the classes.

The college, however, will suspend students who violate the dress code in defiance of the order of the Karnataka High Court, and the subsequent decision taken by the college committee.

A total of 101 Muslim girl students are pursuing their studies in the government college, as per the Deccan Herald.
