JNU New Course On ‘Islamic Terrorism’ Is Delusional, Designed To Demonise Muslims: Campus Front Of India

Campus Front of India (CFI) has slammed the new course introduced at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi, which asserts that “Jihadi terrorism” is the only form of “fundamentalist-religious terrorism”. CFI’s president, MS Sajid said the course is ‘unscientifically designed from delusion’, in a statement.

The course offered by JNU has courted controversy for linking terrorism with Islam.

The student organisation accused the university of furthering the agenda of the RSS. ” The course is a part of ongoing RSS propaganda to demonise, marginalise and exterminate Indian Muslims,” the statement said.

CFI claimed that there are no organised terrorist activities among Muslims in the country except isolated incidents. ” the course helps nothing but to create an academic ground and provide legitimacy to incite violence against Muslims, which gained momentum after the BJP came to power,” it said.

The news about the university’s plans to introduce the course first came to light, in 2018 when Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, the then chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission (DMC), wrote a letter to the JNU asking if the university was going to introduce a course on “Islamic Terrorism”. The answer that he had received from the registrar of JNU was a definite “No”.

The DMC was prompted to write the letter following reports that a meeting of the university’s Academic Council in December 2017 where a proposed course titled “Centre for National Security Studies” with “Islamic Terrorism” as the key topic was placed under discussion.

Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan said that the university has introduced the course, despite the assurances it gave to the DMC.

There is no organised lslamic terrorism in lndia. Organised terrorism in lndia is done by Hindutva organisations of Sangh Parivar namely RSS , Bajrang Dal , VHP , Hindu Sena , Hindu Jan Jagruti Manch , Hindu Yuva Vahini and their allied political out fits namely BJP , Shiv Sena , Hindu Maha Sabha etc. It would be better that JNU should focus on correct information rather than working for hate crime agenda of any political party whose vote bank politics is based on anti-muslim hate-mongering , Racial crimes & apartheid against lndian Muslim citizens and implementation of Hindutva vote bank politics against Indian muslims.
