Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind Seeks Action Against Three Right-Wing Leaders

Gurugram unit of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JUH) on Tuesday filed a complaint against three people associated with different Hindu right-wing groups for continuously hurting the religious sentiments of Muslims by giving inflammatory and communally divisive statements on different occasions.

Mufti Mohd Salim, president of JUH, Gurugram said that a complaint has been submitted by him before the Commissioner of Police and a copy of the same has been sent to Deputy Commissioner seeking action against people who are time and again trying to spread hate and malice between two religions.

The said complaint is filed against three men Dinesh Bharti, president of Bharat Mata Vahini, Kulbhushan Bhardwaj, legal advisor of Sanyukt Hindu Sangharsh Samiti and Mahaveer Bhardwaj.

The police have received the complaint but no case has been registered so far. As per authorities, they are investigating the facts, and no action has been taken yet.

Mufti Mohd Salim further said, “Dinesh Bharti and others mentioned in the complaint are seen many times making fun of our community and Islam by making malicious and blasphemous statements”.

“Dinesh Bharti enjoys impunity. He has said that ‘wherever Muslims go to offer their obligatory Juma Namaz, he will go after them with a sword’, All this is on record and they are in the public domain. Such statements are not only malicious but are said deliberately to outrage religious sentiments of Muslims”, he added.

Along with the complaint, a pen drive containing all the alleged speeches given by three men enlisted in the complaint has also been submitted by the organization.

“Therefore, we request you to take appropriate action in accordance with the law immediately against the aforesaid 3 persons and all other persons involved in this conspiracy, who have deeply hurt the Muslim Community and are designedly making such statements in an attempt to maliciously spread disharmony in the society”, reads the part of the written complaint made by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind.

Over the last three months, Hindu groups have continuously tried to disrupt congregational Friday prayers that were being offered in open spaces due to the lack of Mosques in the area in Gurugram.

Despite several disruptions, the Gurugram administration hasn’t taken any concrete steps to resolve the matter.
