Islamic Scholar & Founder Of AlMaghrib Institute, Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef Passes Away

Islamic scholar and founder of AlMaghrib Institute, one of the pioneering Islamic educational institutes in the United States, Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef passed away in Dubai on Thursday, July 21.

Muhammad Alshareef had no previous illness, but life is not promised, his family shared on social media, announcing his death.

An giant in the field of Islamic education, Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef inspired a generation of Islamic educators, dawah carriers and young Muslims across the world.

Who Was Muhammad Alshareef?

Muhammad Alshareef was born in 1975 and raised in Canada. In his youth, he memorized the Quran and later graduated with an Islamic Law degree from the Islamic University of Madinah, class of 1999.

He founded AlMaghrib Institute in 2002 in College Park, Maryland, USA, where he taught the first class to a small group of just 30 students.

He is also the founder of DiscoverU, a personal development institute.
