The Cognate is a digital news platform of Indian Muslim news, ideas, culture, and business. Our content includes news, ground reportage, interviews, and short explanatory videos. We report and write on a wide range of issues and events, concerning the Muslim community in India.
The Cognate’s Internship is a rolling program meant to help students, people early in their careers and career changers aspiring to be cross-format journalists gain entry-level skills and experience in the fields of news media, social media and facts-checking.
Interns are given meaningful, real-world, hands-on responsibilities at our thriving multimedia organization.

The Cognate’s Internship is an unpaid program and will be offered onsite, fully remote, or a hybrid of the two as per each individual’s convenience.
Eligibility Requirements
Current students (in any discipline), graduates, and non-graduates who have a passion, to tell the truth, and want to make a career in journalism can apply.
