In a major setback for Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM party, four of its MLA’s joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal Party in Bihar.
According to Muslim Mirror, the MLA’s were reportedly in touch with the RJD for a merger. After the merger, RJD will become the largest political party in Bihar which currently has 76 MLAs.
Now the Bharatiya Janata Party has 77 MLAs after the merger of 3 MLAs of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) with it.
The AIMIM, which is seen as the BJP’s “B Team” has been accused of the cutting votes of parties having secular ideology. They had cut votes of RJD in more than 20 seats in Bihar during the 2020 Assembly polls and five managed to win.
Four MLAs who joined the RJD are Shahnawaz, Izhar, Anjar Nayani and Syed Rukundin, according to reports.
