Grandeur International School

Bengaluru: As part of their community outreach and charity efforts, The Grandeur International School (TGISB) held a ‘Joy Drive’ charity campaign at the Government Urdu Higher Primary School (Latifiya) in Shivaji Nagar here on Saturday.

TGISB’s charity support was coordinated with Small Appeal, the NGO which has adopted the government school.

Over the course of a month, students at TGISB were asked to bring school supplies, clothes and other back-to-school essentials to contribute to the charity drive, which was then donated to children of the government Urdu school, who have no means to purchase them. Essentials donated included backpacks, clothes, shoes, notebooks, paper, binders, pens, pencils, glue, erasers, calculators and other day-to-day supplies for students.

The charity drive was headed by the school’s Peace Student Association (PSA) team, which comprises of the senior grade children, undertaking various community outreach programmes.

“It’s so great to be able to support the kids studying in government schools, and share our happiness with them. I think that really keeps us motivated,” said Aafreen Imtiyaz, HOD Sports at Grandeur International School.

The students of TGISB appreciated the efforts of their teachers to help them learn about kindness and charity. They emphasized that this spirit of helping others should remain the same throughout the year.
