The ongoing pandemic has brought forward some exemplary work by organisations and individuals. These NGOs and with their indomitable spirit provided essential humanitarian relief and took it upon themselves to save people’s lives.
To honour these NGOs and organisations doing exemplary work in the field of education and employment, the Association of Muslim Professionals is inviting nominations for the ‘AMP National Awards For Social Excellence – 2021’.
Last year, AMP launched the NGO Connect initiative, which aims to harness the power of individual NGOs into a Collaborative Movement of Change. “The idea is to develop a network or alliance of NGOs working for various issues of community & nation-building and also to facilitate inter-organization co-operation and coordination for implementation of welfare projects and activities across the country,” said Farooq Siddiqui, Head of AMP NGO Connect.
He said in the last year, more than 200 NGOs have connected with AMP and collaborated on various projects like National Talent Search (NTS) – 2020, #O2ForAll (Oxygen Cylinders) and #FeedthePoor campaigns and also worked on Non-AMP projects like the Atal Tinkering Lab project from NITI Aayog, in which they collaborated with the Govt. allied partner Students Alliance LLP and helped the schools raise almost 8 crores in funds.
Instituted this year, the ‘AMP National Awards For Social Excellence – 2021’ will be given at the national and state level in the categories of education, employment/livelihood assistance and humanitarian assistance.
These Awards will be announced on Sunday, 15th August 2021 at an online event. NGOs working across the country in any of the three domains can apply either for any one or all the three categories.
The applications will be evaluated on the following parameters:
- How many lives the NGO has been able to transform/change by its projects.
- Whether the project/s is one-off/short term or long term kind (like any permanent Education/Scholarship centres)
- Any recognition by Government/Govt. Departments like Minority Commission etc.
- Any running project with Government or any Corporate (under CSR funding)
Nominations may be submitted through AMP’s official website https://bit.ly/AMPNationalNGOAwards. The last date for registrations will be Saturday, 7th August 2021.
