Asaduddin Owaisi’s Delhi House Attacked By Hindu Sena Members, Five Detained

Five members of Hindu Sena have been detained by the Delhi Police for vandalising the house of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi, located in New Delhi’s Ashoka Road.

The incident reportedly took place at 5 pm on Tuesday.

DCP (New Delhi district) Deepak Yadav confirmed that they have detained five men, who are residents of Northeast Delhi’s Mandoli area, the Indian Express reported.

“Police rushed to the spot after receiving the call and detained all the accused from the spot. By the time personnel reached, they had damaged the entrance gate and windows of his house,” a senior police officer said.

AIMIM Delhi President, Kaleemul Hafeez condemned the attack and said that if such an attack can happen on the house of an MP near the office of the Election Commission, then it shows the deteriorating law order situation.

This is not the first time the MP’s residence in the capital was attacked by members of the Hindu Sena. In 2014 too, Owaisi’s Delhi house was attacked by the same extremist group in full view of police and security personnel. The group members had raised vulgar slogans against the Owaisi brothers, painted the walls black and destroyed the party’s hoarding as well as the wooden grill on the wall.
