Videos emerged of police beating a group of Muslim man, and forcing them to chant ‘Vande Mataram’. Faizan, the 23-year-old Muslim man who was filmed as he was brutally assaulted by policemen, died after the Delhi Police illegally detained him for over 36 hours and denied him urgent medical attention, HuffPost reported.
BBC published a report claims to have uncovered evidence that the Delhi police “acted alongside Hindu rioters”.
Himanshu Rathod, a local who was allegedly involved in the violence, told BBC, “We didn’t have enough stones and the police brought us some.”
A Muslim man, whose property was burnt down in the clashes, said, “I saw the police coming with the rioters who set the shops on fire.”
