On the eve of India’s 75th anniversary of independence, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) will host a public program in Hyderabad highlighting the role of Muslims in the freedom struggle.
The public conference on the “Role of Muslims in India’s Independence” will take place on August 12 in Sheikhpet, while the AAIMIM headquarters in Darussalam will host a Mushaira (poetic symposium).
Asaduddin Owaisi, the party’s president and a member of parliament from Hyderabad, announced on Wednesday that community leaders, organisations, and religious experts will address the meeting. He urged people to attend the public meeting in large numbers, especially young people.
Owaisi asserted that fascist and sectarian forces are attempting to manipulate history at a time when India is commemorating 75 years of independence to either overlook or completely erase the contribution of Muslims to the liberation struggle.
In a video message, the MP stated that speakers at the public gathering will emphasise the crucial part that “our predecessors in the independence movement” played as well as the enormous sacrifices they made.”We will not only pay tributes to the great leaders but remember their sacrifices so that we further strengthen our country,” he said.
The Mushaira on the same subject would be held in Darussalam, according to Owaisi. Leading Urdu poets from across the nation will take part in the programme to emphasise the significant contribution Muslims made to India’s struggle for independence.
