In yet another terrorist attack, this time in Bihar’s Araria, a 55-year-old Muslim man was beaten to death by a terrorist mob on allegations of stealing a cow.
The incident which took place in Simarbani village, about 300 km from Patna on December 29, came to light two days later after videos shot by some of the attackers went viral social media. The victim has been identified as Kabul Miyan, a 55-year-old man who was also a former village head.
The video shows the elderly man being kicked in the face, thrashed with sticks and repeatedly called ‘chor’ (thief). He can be heard in the video saying he has no reason to steal anyone’s cattle. All the assailants were known to the victim and belonged to the same community, NDTV reported, quoting KP Singh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Araria.
The report added that although faces of people can be seen in the video, police are yet to make any arrests.
Lynching in Alwar
In another terrorist attack, 23-year-old Sagir Khan was beaten up by a mob in Alwar district of Haryana on Sunday for allegedly transporting cattle. Khan, along with his colleague Mushtaq, was taking six cows in a pick-up van through a village in Alwar when he was attacked by cow terrorists. The police, when informed of the assault, rushed to the spot and took Sagir to a hospital.
He is currently undergoing treatment at the trauma centre in a government hospital in Kishangarh. The police have arrested three persons so far and also registered an FIR against Sagir Khan for ‘illegally’ transporting cattle.
The incident has come a few months after 28-year-old Rakbar Khan was beaten to death by a mob in Alwar on suspicion that he was smuggling cows.
