India Bans Jamaat-e-Islami in Jammu & Kashmir

Jamaat-e-Islami

The Union government has accused Jamaat-e-Islami of supporting ‘extremism’ and ‘militancy’ in Jammu & Kashmir.

The ban comes amid the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan, following the attack on CRPF troops in Pulwama. The move has drawn flak from all quarters in Kashmir, and many believe this will only push the valley into a new crisis.
